Filipino comfort food, cooked the way Nanay makes it

Welcome to Munting Kusina ni Nanay, a little Filipino kitchen on Midpark Way SE in Midnapore, Calgary. Since 2024 we have been cooking home-style Filipino food (lutong bahay) for south Calgary: always fresh, served hot, and packed with just the right amount of spicy kick.

Expect crispy lechon kawali and bagnet, sizzling sisig, slow-cooked caldereta and mechado, bicol express, pork BBQ on a stick and fried tilapia, served hot with rice. Finish with Filipino kakanin like suman, puto, kutsinta, pichi pichi, carioca and leche flan.

Munting Kusina ni Nanay opened in 2024 as a women-owned Filipino kitchen inside Midnapore Mall. The name says it all: “Mom’s Little Kitchen”, a place for lutong bahay, the home cooking Filipinos grow up with.
